The TallWood project team has been busy at work during the past few months. Here is a brief round-up of some of the activities:
- Before the summer holidays, Matti Yliniemi from Lappia visited the new factory of Vaaran Palkki Oy. The factory produces components for about 1,500 log houses, which is about 60,000 m3 of non-setting logs or timber beams per year. The TallWood project was presented to the factory management. You can view a video of the building process and the factory in action on YouTube.
- A project partner meeting was held after the summer vacations. The meeting consisted mostly of catching up and discussing further details on the upcoming Bodø meeting.
- Check out the Instagram account of Oamk's civil engineering department for pictures of the site visit to Pudasjärven Hirsihovi and DAS Kelo. For further details on these buildings, head to the Demonstration Buildings page.
Stay tuned for updates and news from the Bodø meeting. The project group will be meeting in Norway from the 18th to the 21st of October. There will be a Project Partner Meeting, a Project Steering Group Meeting, and multiple intriguing site visits and networking.
